1991-1996
CEINPET emerged on March 25, 1996, as part of the transformation in petroleum activities that began with the creation of Unión Cuba-Petróleo (CUPET) in 1991.
Consolidation
It marks the consolidation of two research centers with a recognized investigative tradition: the Oil Research and Development Center (CIDP) and the Chemical Research Center (CIQ), both of which contributed results to the National Petroleum Industry.
2020
In 2020, the transformation into an enterprise was approved, remaining within CUPET's OSDE framework, under the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM).
2024
The Council of Ministers awarded CEINPET the High Technology Company distinction through Resolution 9979/2024, recognizing the scientific-technical capacity accumulated over more than three decades of applied research.
